  • Ensure that the surface is clean before fitting cornices to wall.
  • Use chalk to draw a horizontal line around the room at installation position. (Don’t use the ceiling as a guide as it might not always be level.)
  • Apply cornice adhesive. (Only use an acrylic based cornice adhesive.) Spread the adhesive along the entire length of the back edges and on the edges of the cornice where it will meet the wall and ceiling. You will have approximately 2 minutes to adjust cornice into position before adhesive dries.
  • Always leave a 2-3mm gap filled with adhesive when joining profiles. This prevents cracking on joints. Panel pins can be used to secure joints should support be required while the adhesive dries.
  • Remove excess adhesive with a damp sponge. Joints can also be sanded down later for a neat and tidy finish.
  • Painting: When painting the cornices use any water-based or acrylic paint. Using a solvent-based paint is not recommended as this can damage the product. If necessary however, apply two coats of PVA to the cornice before applying solvent-based paint over it.
